What is a CLT?
Community Land Trusts are set up and run by ordinary people to provide and manage homes and to do other things that support the local community.
There are several successful Community Land Trusts throughout the country that are run on the same model as South Bank, including North Ormesby where six properties have been purchased and have undergone renovation. There are over 300 CLT’s operating in England.
The South Bank CLT has three major projects underway:
1. Doing up and providing five street houses to rent
2. Running the Eco-shop at St John’s Church
3. Looking after the allotment at Briggs Avenue.
